Please tell us a bit about yourself.
When you create, what inspires you?
Tell us about the specific inspiration behind one or each of your accepted pieces.
What is your medium of choice? Why?
How did you first discover your love for drawing?
What advice would you give to an aspiring poet/writer?
If you weren’t drawing about love, what would be your topic of choice?
fēlan is old English for feel. What makes you feel love?

My art is inspired by the desire for love to overcome  hate and oppression
I started drawing after my political exile from Iran
I try to express a love of humanity and the vulnerable beauty of ordinary people
I do not draw as a means of making money but just as hopeful self expression
I grew up in Tehran and now live in London , UK
I particularly identify with artists such as Freida Karlo and Kathe Kollwitz and
I love the energy of Cuban music and culture
These drawings relate to the desire for love and the longing for social justice
