Please tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m in my early forties. I write under a pseudonym. I live in Thailand at the moment. I don’t know how long I’ll be here. I’m working on a novel.

When you create, what inspires you?

Life. Pain, mostly. The icky things that we do our best to ignore.

Tell us about the specific inspiration behind one or each of your accepted pieces.

Fugacious Fuck is about falling in love, and how it makes us vulnerable. When we’ve had our hearts broken, falling in love is something we approach with some trepidation.

What is your medium of choice? Why?

I write on my laptop. When I struggle with words, I scrawl on a sketchpad. It helps me see the lines that extend past the confines of my screen.

How did you first discover your love for writing?

I think it discovered me. I was seven when I wrote my first story. It was a very organic event. I’ve been negligent though: I stopped writing in my twenties and thirties while I worked fulltime. I’ve only just returned to writing. I suspect I’ll die writing.

What advice would you give to an aspiring poet?

And don’t expect anything from writing.

If you weren’t writing about love, what would be your topic of choice?

I write about the rest of the stuff that make up life.
