Please tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m an Aussie-Finn who loves to write. No longer on the treadmill of work/eat/sleep I can indulge myself and do more of the things I love.
When you create, what inspires you?
Friends, family, nature, pets, the metaphysical and esoteric – things that resonate with my heart
Tell us about the specific inspiration behind one or each of your accepted pieces.
I wrote JOY specifically in response to the call for submissions. When I write poetry and fiction stories in particular I tend to go into a ‘zone’ where words just emerge from somewhere deep inside of myself. I can’t describe it any better than that. These types of creations are not pre-planned, researched, drafted and re-worked. They emerge. Often without the need for anything other than perhaps some minor editing.
What is your medium of choice? Why?
Writing. I have always loved it. I’m good at it. It flows effortlessly most of the time. At school I often got 10/10 for my descriptive essays. At uni I constantly received commendations for the quality of my assignments. Work colleagues sought me out to help with reports, letters and the like.
How did you first discover your love for creating?
I don’t recall any specific time or circumstance. It’s just always been that way.
fēlan is old English for feel. What makes you feel joy?
It’s an interesting word I’ve not come across before. The things that make me feel joy are also the things that inspire me.
Please feel free to add anything else you think is relevant.
I came across this submission through my WordPress reader and thought I’d give it a bash. I’m a relative newcomer to blogging, having uploaded my first post on 1st August 2015. My blog is called SoulGifts Telling Tales: creating magic with words! It’s a one line description of what I am about. I have discovered a whole fantastic world of words out there in the blogging world.
